The Maritime Electric Victorian Holiday Celebration
November 19, 2004 January 4, 2005 Wintertide - The Maritime Electric Holiday Celebration, adds spirit and sparkle to Historic Charlottetowns Nighttime sky as thousands of lights are presented in thematic displays throughout the downtown core.
From November 19th to January 4th over 80 events will take place! Community events will include craft fairs, the Santa Claus Parade, horse and carriage rides, outdoor recreation, New Years Eve in the Park, holiday concerts and much more!
The 6th Annual Opening Ceremonies will take place at Province House National Historic Site of Canada on Friday, November 19th, 2004 at 6pm. Dont miss this chance to join family and friends as the Wintertide light displays are lit for the very first time to officially kick off the festive season. Please join us for free hot chocolate and cider compliments of Tim Horton's. Everyone is welcome!
The highlight of Wintertide promises to be the 2004 Holiday House & Home Weekend at the Culinary Institute of Canada. Last year, the Holiday, House and Home Weekend featured HGTV's Interior Designer and host of the hit program Room Service "Sarah Richardson", Freelance Writer and one of the founding editors of Canadian Living Magazine "Anna Hobbs", "Mary Dobson" who appears regularly on CityLine, chefs from the Culinary Institute of Canada and hostess ATVs Liz Rigney, as they teamed up to present a variety of festive entertaining ideas. The Holiday House & Home Weekend features celebrity lifestyle hosts that will inspire participants with new ideas for the festive season. Stay tuned for details about this years interactive seminars and celebrity hosts yet to be named.
The Holiday House & Home Weekend will feature all-inclusive packages for beautifully decorated hotels and historic inns in Charlottetown. Packages are quoted on a per person basis and include accommodations based on double occupancy. Packages include a welcome reception, breakfast daily, your choice of three interactive seminars (subject to availability) with our special guests, an Open House at a historic inn, a Contemporary holiday dinner, a guided walking tour of the Wintertide Light displays and special gifts.
